Walked the line.

Step by step we follow Jay's instructions. He is our Lead Hemp Farmer who tells us when and how things need to get done on Bordertown Farm. Jay has his equipment strategically placed all over the property. He has a system! His tractor has many attachments that make planting hemp a lot easier than by hand (which we did the first year). Day one: Jay plowed the field to prepare the soil. Day 2: he cut over 40 ditches in which the soaker hose was laid. Day 3: the soaker hose was rolled into the ditches and attached to the PVC pipes that run along the edge of the field. The water with which we irrigate our organic hemp field comes from our own natural spring on the property. We do not depend on the town of Brattleboro for our water. That is very liberating! When the final hose was laid we were tired but very happy that we were one step closer to graduating our hemp plants from the greenhouse to the field.
